Ben & Jerry’s Is Now Making Ice Cream for Dogs, and It’s Pretty Paw-some
Ben & Jerry's is now making dog ice cream—and it's even better than belly rubs.
2021 has been a ruff year so far, and we’ve definitely reached for comfort food more times than we can count. Lucky for us, the dessert world has made major strides lately, including this all-new Funfetti ice cream.
Not to be left behind, ice cream connoisseurs Ben & Jerry’s have come out with a decadent treat as well—but this one is for our canine companions! Doggie Desserts is a new line of treats exclusively for your furry friends.
Ben & Jerry’s Dog Ice Cream Flavors
Ben & Jerry’s makes the frozen desserts with a sunflower butter base. Look out for two dog-friendly flavors:
- Pontch’s Mix: a protein-packed combination of peanut butter and pretzels
- Rosie’s Batch: a fall-inspired blend of pumpkin and mini cookies
They also use high-quality ingredients that can be found in Ben & Jerry’s current (human-safe) offerings. If you really want Fido to have some fun, pair them with one of these delicious homemade dog treats.
This ice cream was inspired by all the dogs at the Ben & Jerry’s HQ. The dogs even have their own crew name: the K9 to 5’ers! If that hasn’t got you aww-ing you already, this might. The two flavors are named after office pooches Pontch, a French bulldog, and Rosie, a rescue mutt “of mixed heritage.”
Where Can I Find the Ice Cream?
The Doggie Desserts line will be available in individual 4 oz. mini packs ($2.99) and 4-count multipacks ($4.99). You can find them at grocery stores and select pet stores across the country. You can also find Doggie Desserts on the Ben & Jerry’s website, along with some seriously cool pet merch like the Doggie Desserts dog bowl, a plush ice cream cone dog toy and a custom rainbow tie-dye leash made from recycled water bottles.
P.S. Ben & Jerry’s also have a great tip on how to store ice cream, so your Doggie Desserts can remain creamy, dreamy and delicious!
