Not all laundry soaps are created equal! Find out which brand was voted the best laundry detergent in the country.

There are some household products that you can’t skimp on. In our opinion, laundry detergent is one of them. With what seems like an endless amount of clothes to wash (especially if you have kids), you need a reliable detergent with serious stain-fighting power. All of the big brands make big promises, but we want to know once and for all—which is the best laundry detergent?

Luckily, this poll has the answer. The Harris Poll EquiTrend Brand of the Year study asked 39,100 U.S. consumers to rate over 2,000 brands across 200 categories including laundry detergent. Participants were asked to rate the brands using three three factors: familiarity, quality and purchase consideration. The results are in!

What Is America’s Favorite Laundry Detergent?

The winner of the laundry detergent “Brand of the Year” is Tide! We’re not surprised. Tide has been around for 75 years, and continues to offer up products that deliver clean, fresh-smelling clothes. We’re fans—and it seems about 39,000 people agree.

Classic Tide laundry detergent will get the job done. But if you like washing with cold water (which saves you money and is good for the environment) check out Tide Coldwater Clean detergent. If you haven’t tried Tide Pods yet; you’ve got nothing to lose because if you don’t love them, Tide is offering full money back refunds.

Tide is the go-to when it comes to laundry of course; but it’s also great in other cleaning solutions. Our favorite is an all-purpose cleaner made popular by the Instagram-famous Go Clean Co cleaning company. Mix 1/3 cup of bleach, one gallon of water and one teaspoon of Tide Powder laundry detergent. It’s great on walls, bathrooms, kitchens, and more. You won’t believe what you can remove with this simple mixture!
