Disney Just Announced Plans to Bring Back Its Fireworks Shows—Here’s What We Know

Disney fans wished upon the right star.

As things slowly get back to normal, we’ve been looking forward to visiting some of our favorite places—which includes, obviously, the Disney parks. After a year of being indoors, we can’t wait to be back at the happiest place on earth! Now, Disney has announced that the much-loved fireworks shows are coming back to the parks, and we can’t wait to see the night sky light up.

Walt Disney called Disney’s signature fireworks shows the perfect “kiss goodnight” at the end of a magical day at the theme parks, and this summer, you’ll have that magic moment back if you make a visit! At Walt Disney World in Florida, you can catch the beloved “Happily Ever After” show, which turns Cinderella’s Castle into a beautiful display of lights and pyrotechnics. The “EPCOT Forever” show will also return to World Showcase Lagoon at EPCOT, and it celebrates the past, present and future of the park.

Disneyland in California is joining in on the fun, with “Mickey’s Mix Magic” lighting up Main Street, Sleeping Beauty Castle and the outside of the “It’s a Small World” ride. The show celebrates the iconic Mickey Mouse, and uses state-of-the-art projections, show lighting and lasers to transform the area into a dance party!

When Will Disney Fireworks Shows Start?

The fireworks return to Walt Disney World on July 1, 2021 and Disneyland on July 4, 2021—right in time for the holidays. If you’re planning to visit, don’t forget to check out Disney’s updated mask policy.

If you can’t make it to the parks just yet, check out the “Happily Ever After” show online, released on Disney’s blog last year as part of their #MagicMoments campaign. And of course, you can always make your own Dole whip, homemade churros and Woody’s Lunch Box grilled cheese at home.
