Dunkaroos, the hit snack that disappeared in 2012, came back last year just in time for lunch! The ’90s lunchbox treat got a stylish 2020 makeover, too.
The new Dunkaroos showcase the classic vanilla cookies and vanilla frosting with rainbow sprinkles for dunking. The packaging retains a retro feel with its bright colors (purple and turquoise, of course) and ’90s graphics. Speaking of the ’90s, feel the nostalgia with our favorite 1990s recipes.
What’s a Dunkaroo?
If Dunkaroos mania passed you by the first time around, here’s what you need to know. The original treat came in individual snack packs, which contained vanilla cookies on one side and frosting—vanilla or chocolate—on the other side for dipping. These all-in-one snacks were the ultimate after-school treat.
Cookies and cream are a favorite pairing. What about peanut butter and banana? Or the crackers and cheese in Handi-Snacks? Check out the other retro food combos that might bring back a taste of childhood.
Dunkaroos didn’t just make a comeback—they also expanded their offerings! You can now get Dunkaroos cereal, Betty Crocker Dunkaroos frosting and even go-GURT Dunkaroos, featuring a collaboration between two of your childhood faves.

Where Can I Get Some?!
We didn’t expect Dunkaroos to stick around till this year, but we’re sure glad they did! You can grab a snack pack at Sam’s Club, Kroeger or even on Amazon. You can also find Dunkaroo products through their website’s locator. Thanks to the snack delivery app goPuff, Dunkaroos are also eligible for delivery nationwide, so you don’t have to miss out on this throwback snack.
We’re not sure how long Dunkaroos will stick around, so you might want to stock up. Put your order in on goPuff ASAP, before Dunkaroos head back to the ’90s for good.
With the return of this fan-favorite, is it possible for other tasty blasts from the past to get revived, too? We’re holding out for Hi-C Ecto Cooler and Tribbles.
