Nestle Is Selling Espresso Chocolate Chips and Our Inner Coffeeholics Are Ready
Is it the caffeine or the cocoa? Nestle's Espresso Morsels have us all hyped up!
Personally, I think there’s no better way to start the day than with a delicious cup of coffee and a homemade baked good. And now, Nestle Toll House is taking coffee and baking to the next level with Espresso Morsels. As an avid baker and borderline caffeine addict, I’m itching to bake something with these little bits of goodness. Are you ready to add a caffeinated kick to your desserts?
Did you say chocolate chips with caffeine?
We haven’t been this excited about chocolate chips since Baileys released their Irish Cream Baking Chips. Although Baileys’ baking chips tasted like the real thing, they didn’t have any Irish Creme liqueur in them. This isn’t the case with Nestle’s espresso chocolate chips. According to the package, Espresso Morsels are made with real coffee (plus cocoa and milk), so you can expect a little buzz.
So what can you do with these delicious espresso chips?
Add them to pretty much any dessert and treat them like regular chocolate chips. They’ll give chocolate espresso lava cake extra oomph. You can also add Espresso Morsels to a chewy chocolate chip cookie or some classic brownies. The options are endless, so let your imagination run wild.
Where can I find ’em?
You can buy a 9-ounce bag of Espresso Morsels from Walmart for $2.48 a pop, but move quickly! When these morsels were first released last year, they went out of stock almost immediately—now that they’re back and available at Walmart, we don’t expect them to last too long. (Your go-to cookie recipe will thank you.)
