If you’ve ever had the pleasure of a Georgia peach at peak season, then you know that the taste is practically a mouthful of sunshine. General Mills, creators of Honey Nut Cheerios, must have gotten the memo because now you can start your day with a bowl of Peach Cheerios. Just close your eyes and imagine have a delicious fresh peach cobbler in your cereal bowl.

This foray into fruit flavors isn’t new for the brand. Back in 2008, they introduced Banana Nut Cheerios, and though a limited edition, they were so well-liked that they’re still on shelves. And it’s a good thing, too, because quite frankly, they’re delicious. There’s also Very Berry, which is as sweet-smelling as you might imagine but not over-the-top syrupy.

Though Peach Cheerios are currently in stores, they are a limited release, and General Mills isn’t giving an exact date when they may disappear. They’re made with peach puree concentrate for an authentic taste.

Why we love Peach Cheerios

What makes Peach Cheerios so fantastic is that like the other Cheerios flavors, the taste is made more authentic because it is baked in. There isn’t a weird powder, gritty glaze or an artificial aftertaste that can sometimes occur with fruit-flavored items. Plus, you’re still able to experience that oat-y taste that Cheerios are known for. They are gluten-free, contain no artificial flavors or coloring—annatto extract gives it the peachy hue—pretty low in calories (110 per serving) and has 16 grams of whole grains.

Like a good Georgia peach, Peach Cheerios only available for a limited time. These are definitely a taste of summer, but if they don’t quite satisfy your peach craving, you can always give these recipes a try instead.
