How to Make Peppermint Lip Scrub
Use holiday candy to make a festive peppermint lip scrub for sweetly smooth, kissable lips.
Even if you’re diligent about applying lip balm in the winter, you still might end up with dry, patchy lips. Luckily, it couldn’t be easier to make a DIY lip scrub.
(And don’t forget to make enough to gift friends or stuff in stockings! Check out our entire holiday gift guide here.)
This peppermint lip scrub uses just three ingredients—including candy canes! The end result? A seasonal scrub that will leave your lips plump and smooth…just in case you encounter any mistletoe.
Psst: Avoid dry skin with these hydrating foods.
DIY Peppermint Lip Scrub
Ingredients:
- Peppermint candies or candy canes
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. coconut oil
Instructions:
- Place several peppermint candies or candy canes in a food processor, then pulse until finely ground. The candies should be roughly the consistency of sugar.
- Place sugar and coconut oil in a bowl.
- Mix in 2 Tbsp. finely ground peppermint candy until well combined. Store in a small airtight jar.
Makes 6 applications.
To use: Scoop out a small amount with your finger, then gently rub the mixture over your lips, focusing on dry areas. If there’s extra scrub left on your lips, you can rinse them—but we won’t tell if you lick the sweet mixture off.
