Oreo Is Releasing a Limited Edition Packageand It Makes Us Proud
Find out how to get your hands on the rainbow Oreos.
You may already know June is Pride Month, but you might not have remembered that October is LGBTQ+ History Month. Well, Oreo is here to remind you! The brand has launched tons of flavors in 2020, includinggingerbread Oreos for the holidays. Now they’re releasing a brand-new limited edition package that celebrates loyal allies for the LGBTQ+ community.
That’s right: rainbow Oreos are a thing now. But there’s only one place to find ’em.
What Do We Know About the Oreos?
These cookies are really something special. Each pack includes cookies with red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple fillings, inspired by the Pride flag. (They are not, however, the same Oreo that was featured in a viral 2012 Pride Month ad). The package features Oreos arranged in the shape of a heart, which is probably the sweetest design Oreo has ever come up with.
Only 10,000 packs of these Oreos are being made, so there’s a limited number to go around, and finding them isn’t as easy as strolling down to your local Walmart or Target.
Where Can I Find Rainbow Oreos?
Oreo says these cookies won’t be available in stores; they’re part of Oreo’s “#ProudParent” campaign. As such, these treats are being distributed “via giveaway to reward acts of allyship for the LGBTQ+ community.”
If you’re an LGBTQA+ ally and you’d like some rainbow Oreos, starting on October 9, you can share a photo of what allyship means to you on Instagram or Twitter, tag @OREO in the post and follow them, and use the hashtags #ProudParent and #Giveaway. If you’re one of the first 10,000 who does that and completes a registration form (presumably sent to you by Oreo), you’ll be one of the lucky allies who receives rainbow cookies.
Bummed you won’t be able to get these at the grocery store? So were werebut there are plenty of other rainbow treats you can make at home.
