People Are Making Hot Dog Charcuterie Boards That Are Perfect for Summer BBQs

This trend is pretty doggone great.

We love charcuterie boards, and with good reason—they’re quick, delicious and so easy to put together. People have come up with charcuterie boards for literally every season, from St. Patrick’s boards bursting with green, to festive edible Christmas wreaths.

Of course, the trends aren’t restricted to the seasons, or even to boards—we also saw “jarcuterie” cheese boards take off last year, with all the fixin’s for a charcuterie board stuffed into personal Mason jars.

The latest charcuterie board trend takes hot dogs, buns, condiments and even sides together on one snackable platter.

What Should I Put on a Summer Charcuterie Board?

You need to start off with the best hot dogs! If you prefer something heartier, or, you know, you live in Wisconsin, you can also start out with brats. Then, once you’ve got your hot dogs in buns, it’s time for everyone’s favorite part: toppings!

You can stick to the tried-and-true condiments—mustard, relish, onions, pickles and ketchup. Or you can stray off the beaten path with some unexpected toppings—like cheese, bacon or even teriyaki sauce. It could be fun to build a hot dog charcuterie that plays with regional hot dog styles, too.

If you want to make things easy, assemble your hot dogs and serve ’em up with sides like popcorn and potato chips, alongside some berries or peanut butter cups and jelly beans for dessert. No matter what you choose, you can bet these summer charcuterie boards will be delicious! Don’t forget to put together a barkcuterie board for your pup, too.
