Walmart’s New Look Could Be Coming to a Location Near You

Money AND time well spent—we couldn't ask more from Walmart's new look.

Ever since Walmart’s first store opened in Rogers, Arkansas in 1962, the chain has come a long way. It didn’t even have an official logo for its first two years! However, founder Sam Walton’s retail dream kept growing and growing. When customers were asked why they enjoyed going to Walmart so much, they often cited low prices and incredible customer service. Doesn’t seem like much has changed over the decades.

But now Walmart’s testing out a new look—and it’s better than we could have ever imagined.

Walmart’s New Look Is Pretty Stylish

It wasn’t all that long ago that Walmart implemented a different store layout. Back in 2020, the Walmart store design was overhauled to complement the store’s app. It was supposed to resemble the streamlined accessibility of an airport—who would have thought?!

Now we’ve gotten word that Walmart’s switching it up again. According to this viral TikTok video from user @sydneyratcliff_8, there are a plethora of new store arrangements to look forward to.

Much like Macy’s or Ikea, Walmart now has interactive living room and bedroom displays. You can also spot plenty of jazzed-up digital signs in the clothing areas of the store. The mannequins are dressed to the nines, and all of the displays are clean and inviting. Not only that, you can find signs with accompanying QR codes to make searching for the items much easier online. It really does feel like a brand-new store!

Where Can I See It?

Right now, this test store is just outside of Walmart’s corporate HQ in Bentonville, Arkansas. The Springdale, Arkansas store is the first of its kind, and we can’t wait to see more of them! It is currently referred to as Time Well Spent, because the idea is that each customer wishes to spend time there. Springdale is still considered an “incubator location,” so we’re unsure whether or not more prototypes will be rolling out across the country. All we can do is hope, right?
