Watch Us Make: Banana Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting

Move aside, banana bread. There's a new dessert in town.

Bananas begin to ripen fast, and when you notice those first brown spots, you’ve got to figure out a good way to use ’em up before they go bad. These Banana Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting are the perfect solution. The recipe calls for two ripe bananas, which give the dessert a tender, moist texture and rich banana flavor.

The recipe comes from Debbie Knight of Marion, Iowa, and she makes sure to keep a batch on hand at all times. “I make these moist bars whenever I have ripe bananas, then store them in the freezer to share later at a potluck,” she says. “With creamy frosting and big banana flavor, this treat is a real crowd-pleaser.” They’re a surefire way to win fans at potlucks, parties, and tailgates all year round.
