  • 4 large fresh white peaches, washed and diced (leave the peels on)
  • 5 cups water, divided, plus more to taste
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 family-size tea bags

Step 1: Make the peach syrup

First, make a simple syrup. In a large pan, combine the peaches, 2 cups water and 2 cups sugar. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cover. Continue to simmer until the peaches are soft, about 15-20 minutes.

Use a potato masher to mash the peaches. Continue simmering for about 10 minutes. Strain the peach mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large measuring cup and set aside to cool. Discard the peach solids, or reuse them as a topping for pancakes or waffles.

Editor’s Tip: Watching your sugar intake? If your peaches are super ripe, you can reduce the amount of sugar to just 1-1/2 cups. Or, you can omit the sugar completely and make unsweetened white peach iced tea.

Step 2: Prep the tea

In another large pan, bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Place the tea bags into the water, turn off the heat and steep for 12 minutes. Discard the tea bags.

Step 3: Mix it together

Add the tea to a large pitcher. Stir in the peach syrup. Then, slowly add more water until the pitcher is full.
