Yogurt-Dipped Skittles Might Be Coming—and We’re SO Ready
We need this kind of Skittles pronto.
We have some exciting news! If you love the sweet, sweet taste of Skittles (and who doesn’t?), you will be thrilled to hear about a brand-new flavor. Say hello to yogurt-dipped Skittles—the candy we didn’t know we needed until now.
It starts with a mystery…
Last month, a Reddit user posted an image of a product called Skittles Dips. The picture showed a package of yogurt-dipped Skittles with the word ‘original’ under the label. Along with the intriguing photo, the user also commented saying: “Where can I get more of these? I thought they were gonna suck but they were really good and I can’t find them anywhere.”
When another Reddit user asked where he got the yogurt-dipped Skittles, the poster wrote “my neighbor just gave them to me” and said he was in Columbus, Ohio. Of course, we don’t know who this neighbor is and why he would have access to a brand-new flavor of the candy before anybody else, so you might say it’s a mystery.
This isn’t the first time Skittles has been mysterious. Remember Zombie Skittles?
Looking for clues
We put on our detective hats and started hunting for clues. The packaging says “this unit not labeled for individual retail sale.” That could mean that the yogurt-dipped Skittles will only be sold as part of a multipack. The other more interesting theory is that these are test products. The Skittles might be a trial run for the company.
The plot—much like yogurt—thickens. We reached out to the Mars Wrigley organization, who said they do not have any press photos of the new Skittles right now. That means we may have stumbled upon a yet-to-be-released version of the candy! It could also mean that someone from inside the company got hold of the prototype and gave them to the Reddit user. Perhaps that neighbor has some sweet connections.
Of course, all of this intrigue does not satisfy our hunger for the yogurt-dipped Skittles. “I will say that I am very intrigued and from now on, will be looking everywhere I go,” wrote one Reddit user.
At the moment, we can’t confirm anything about the new type of candy but we will certainly be keeping our eyes out.
