We look forward to the holidays for plenty of reasons—decorating, baking all the Christmas cookies we can handle, tuning into the holiday specials we spend all season waiting for—but there’s something else we crave a little more than Christmas carols and ornaments. Now is the time of year when our favorite fast-food places dish out the sweetest (and savoriest!) treats of the season, and we don’t know about you, but we’re already in the drive-thru. Here are the menu items to crave during Christmas (and just when and where to find them).

McDonald’s Holiday Hand Pie

If you’re a fan of the golden arches, you’re probably well familiar with this annual treat. McDonald’s just brought back their holiday hand pie for a limited time, though this elusive goodie can be hard to get ahold of. So far, they’ve been spotted in a handful of locations, but you’ll have to call ahead before you head to the drive-thru—not every McDonald’s location carries this pie. As for flavor, you can expect all the decadence of the holidays. It’s made with vanilla custard tucked inside a flakey crust, and the whole thing is finished with sugar glaze and rainbow sprinkles. Um, yum!

Dairy Queen’s Frozen Hot Chocolate

We’ve already raved about DQ’s Frozen Hot Chocolate, but boy, if it isn’t a sight to behold! This delicious sipper is a fan-favorite people craved so much they started a petition to bring it back for the 2020 holidays, and we’re so glad they did. For only a limited time—presumably through the holidays—Dairy Queen is serving up Frozen Hot Chocolates in small, medium and large sizes garnished with whipped cream and melty cocoa fudge. The drink is made with their signature soft serve, so you know this not-so-hot chocolate is a holiday must-have. Unfortunately, the Frozen Hot Chocolate is only available at participating locations, so you might want to call ahead before you hit the drive-thru.

The Cheesecake Factory’s Peppermint Bark Cheesecake

It’s not Christmas if you’re not indulging in this minty-sweet treat from The Cheesecake Factory. Everyone’s favorite cakery has been rolling out the goods all year—did you try the Chocolate Caramelicious Cheesecake yet?!—so it comes as no surprise they’re bringing back this fan-favorite. What’s better about it this year is you don’t only have the order a slice. You can get a whole 10-inch cheesecake for (socially distant) family gatherings…or just for eating all by yourself after the kids head to bed. The Peppermint Bark Cheesecake is only around through the holiday season, so make sure your get your fill and get your order in before the delicacy disappears for good.

IHOP’s Milk ‘n’ Cookies Pancakes

If you’re craving breakfast, you’re probably craving IHOP. If you’re craving a breakfast that tastes like opening just what you asked for on Christmas morning, you’re still probably craving IHOP. This year, the leader in all things early morning is serving up Milk ‘n’ Cookies Pancakes, which taste just as dreamy as you might think. With a full stack, you get four fluffy, buttermilk pancakes made with Oreo cookie pieces and layered with sweet milk mousse. You can customize these pancakes however you like, but the standard order also comes with a finishing dollop of mousse, vanilla sauce drizzle, more Oreo cookie pieces, powdered sugar and finally, festive red and green holiday sprinkles. If Santa had a favorite holiday breakfast menu, it would definitely be IHOP’s!

Starbucks’ Caramel Brulee Latte

Even if you’re not a Starbucks lover, you’re probably well familiar with the siren’s highly-anticipated holiday menu. After PSL season, Starbucks whips out the Toasted White Mocha, Chestnut Praline, Peppermint Mocha, and most importantly, the Caramel Brulee Latte. This is a flavor you can’t find anywhere else but Starbucks, as it locks in the subtle sweetness of the holiday season with caramel notes, all finished with whipped cream and a crunchy, seasonal topping. While this latte typically hangs out at Starbucks during (and a little after) the holidays, it’s a winter exclusive, so make sure you get into Starbucks ASAP and indulge in this fan-favorite latte. If you haven’t already, that is.

Dunkin’s Peppermint Mocha

Dunkin’s holiday lineup officially debuted early in November, but we just can’t stop sipping on all of these seasonal goodies. Our personal favorite—and probably yours, too—is the Peppermint Mocha, which, by popular demand, makes an appearance every year around the holidays. It’s what you’d expect out of a seasonal latte: steamed milk, decadent chocolate sauce, a hint of sweet peppermint and a whole lot of whipped cream on top! This year, Dunkin’ also rolled out oat milk for the first time, which you can find in the Chai Oatmilk Latte if you’ve already had your holiday fill of the Peppermint Mocha. (Bottom line: you can’t go wrong with Dunkin’ no matter what.)

We weren’t sure if the leader in wintry decadence was coming back for 2020, but a press release (cleverly dubbed The Chicken Wire)  from Chick-fil-A has confirmed our favorite holiday treat is hitting the menu one more time. Beginning November 16, the Peppermint Chocolate Chip Shake will making its way back into stores nationwide—but only for a limited time. If you want to spend your holiday season sipping on cool peppermint, rich chocolate chips and fluffy whipped cream, make sure you hit the drive-thru before the big day. (Just make sure it’s not a Sunday…)
