Broadway Brownie Bars
Total TimePrep: 20 min. + chilling Bake: 30 min.
Am I missing something? The brownie only shows 2 ingredients? Something isn't quite right here...
It’s Christmas morning and I’ve just been served coffee in bed-love my Santa-wondering if anyone else is confused by the instructions, I’ll read further to see if I can understand it better
These are almost like The Rocky Road Fudge Bars from the Pillsbury Back-off book from 1972. They are delicious! I have made them every year since then One of my top 3 most requested recipes. Yummy! I always watch the marshmallows in the oven when they swell and puff they are ready to take out and then spread with the topping. The cheesecake is delicious inside. I have even doubled the cheesecake recipe inside a few times.
I read the reviews about the marshmallows not melting and decided to double the time to 4 minutes. That, coupled with the warm frosting, softened the marshmallows just fine. This recipe is a little more involved but it's not difficult. Enjoy!
These are really decadent but for some reason, my marshmallows didn't melt. By the looks of the picture, you can't even tell there is a marshmallow layer. I followed the directions exactly. Any suggestions? Did anyone else experience this? Mine look more like, "Rocky Road" than Broadway.
very good but very sweet. The girls LOVED them. Will definitely make again!
These were really very good. Homemade always wins out over a boxed mix! I actually made brownie sundaes with these which for some maybe a bit over the top, they are however delicious on their own!
My family thought they were AWESOME! This recipe will be a keeper.
I wont make these again. The marshmallows come away from the brownie. They are impossible to cut neatly. Not near enough chocolate/cocoa to make a brownie base. Waste of ingredients!
A 4 star rating because if sounds so good! I'm wondering if it would affect the recipe very much if the nuts were left out. My family doesn't like them very much and one is allergic.
