Cheddar Turkey Casserole

I just made this recipe and it's outstanding! P.S. if you like a bit more flavor, add more to your liking. Also, you will be baking this, so if you see that it is coming out thick when mixed together with the pasta, vegetables, and turkey. . . make sure to add more milk before you bake! Since I'm Polish, I added a lot of Dill, because, why not?! Now, it's an authentic Polish Turkey Casserole, lol! Enjoy! Smacznego!!!??????
I was looking for recipes to use up what was in the freezer and pantry. Times are a bit tough so using what I have on hand is a must. I made half this recipe for the 2 of us. It would have fed four if there were more sides. We just had cranberry sauce as a side. I made the recipe as written with few changes based on what I had on hand. I used poultry seasons as I had no tarragon. I use almond milk so added 1/3 cup of heavy cream to make it more like uses dairy milk. I also had no nuts to use. I didn't find this bland at all, maybe the poultry seasoning was the key. Also use sharp or extra sharp cheddar. We really liked this and ate the left overs for lunch. This is a good basic recipe, using chicken , ham or tuna would be alternative.
Needs a bit more spices as the sauce is pretty bland. Accidentally added stuffing mix to be used in another recipe, but it turned out very good! So this actually fixed the blandness... Will def make again with the stuffing mix added in. Did not top with almonds, used cheese instead.

My mom and I made it after thanksgiving with our leftover turkey because we were tired of making sandwiches and eating it plain. We only got to the sauce before we knew we were in love! We didn't have and thyme but it still tasted great without it. We substituted almonds for the leftover pecans my mom uses to make pies. Everything was great and we will definitely be making this again!!
My husband and I thought this tasted a little bland. Nothing a little extra black pepper on the top couldn't fix. Next time, I'll add a little extra seasoning while cooking. Otherwise, I thought this was a very easy and complete meal. It was perfect for my three kids. I actually used chicken but can't wait to use it with left-over Thanksgiving turkey.
Great recipe, just needs a little extra moisture. I would suggest doubling the sauce.
I liked this, my husband did not. I made it with chicken (what I had on hand) and it was a little bland. I added some kosher salt to my helping which made it tastier. I'll make it again.....but when my hubby is working out of town!
I made this yesterday and cut it in half and baked it in a 8 by 8 Pyrex dish"for 30 minutes. It turned out wonderfully! My husband usually only likes deli turkey and turkey at thanksgiving but he said that he liked this twist on leftover turkey!
