Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1-1/3 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2/3 cup Dutch-processed cocoa
  • 1/2 cup flaked coconut
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar and Nutella until blended. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. In another bowl, whisk flours and cocoa; gradually beat into butter mixture, mixing well. Fold in coconut and oats. Spread into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan.
  2. Bake until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs, 22-25 minutes (do not overbake). Cool completely in pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars.
