Contest-Winning Grilled Mushrooms

Grilled mushrooms always taste good, but this easy recipe makes them taste even more fantastic. As the mother of two children, I love to cook entire meals on the grill. It's fun spending time outdoors with the kids. —Melanie Knoll, Marshalltown, Iowa

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound medium fresh mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon dill weed
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • Grilled lemon wedges, optional

Directions

  • Thread mushrooms on four metal or soaked wooden skewers. Combine butter, dill and garlic salt; brush over mushrooms.
  • Grill, covered, over medium-high heat until tender, 10-15 minutes, basting and turning every 5 minutes. Serve with grilled lemon wedges if desired.

    we love mushrooms! Instead of skewers I just place them in a throwaway aluminum pan. Easy clean up for a yummy simple side dish.

    Awesome! My husband ate half of the mushrooms before they got off of the grill. We used a grill basket and he wanted to "save" the smaller mushrooms from getting over cooked.

    My family loves mushrooms and these are so delicious. They are easy to prepare and what is nice about them is, you grill them, so there is no heating up the kitchen by roasting them in the oven on a hot summer day.

    Just had a party and threw these together last minute. All of the sudden I heard all the men in the kitchen raving about these mushroom and asking how I seasoned them. My husband insisted this recipe be in regular rotation for side dishes!

    Very good! I'll be making this again soon. Like someone else, I took the easier route and grilled them in a basket rather than on skewers.

    Sounds like a strange combination but tastes great! It reminds me of the grilled mushroom skewers at Logan's. I usually throw in a grill basket rather than mess with skewers.
