Creamy Garlic Salad Dressing

Most commercial garlic dressings don’t have enough garlic taste for me, but this one always hits the spot. The thick and creamy dressing will jazz up any salad. —Michele Odstrcilek of Lemont, Illinois

  • 1 cup reduced-fat sour cream
  • 1/2 cup fat-free mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup fat-free milk
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper


  • In a small bowl, whisk the sour cream, mayonnaise, milk and sugar. Stir in the onions, garlic, salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

    Really good! Did not use fat free ingredients. Creamy and great on a wedge salad. We’ll be making this again.

    This was really good dressing. I didn't use the fat-free versions, but otherwise followed all the instructions. We are making our second recipe and doubling it after we went to the store to get more Salad supplies!!! Thank you for submitting this recipe!

    Made this today and it is OUTSTANDING!! I tried a different recipe before I found this one and it was awful! I didn't use the onions and nothing low fat. I also used a tad less milk and salt. It was perfect!

    I just made it,and I didnt add the onion, and I didnt use low fat ingredients, garlic dressing is impossible to find in our local grocerys, so I already Know this recipe will be worth a 5 star rating, cant wait to try it, thanks for sharing, Wendy M.

    I use less sugar and do not use low-fat ingredients. This is a delicious recipe. As a once-in-a-while treat, we dip oven fries into this instead of the usual condiment.

    This dressing is delicious-- much better than store bought bottled dressing. It makes quite a bit--next time I might just make half batch.

    This is an excellent dressing. It has a thicker consistence than bottled dressing, like the more expensive dressing on the market but I like that. This also works well as a dip. Very, very good! Yummm!!!
