This pie is excellent! I’ve made it at least a dozen times using a Pillsbury crust and following everything else exactly as written. I always get compliments and requests for the recipe. Although I’m an experienced baker, I always give credit to this fantastic recipe!
Everyone just loved this pie topped with ice cream. Delicious! Has anyone ever made this pie before hand and frozen?
This was my first attempt at a crumb topped pie and I was pleased with the results. I do like my apple pies a bit more sweet so I may up the sugar in the filling next time.
NOt my favorite crust recipe, but otherwise very good.
Best pie out there. I love to add a few raspberries for color, or cranberries at Christmastime. This is the only apple pie I make now.

This pie is so good! I add an extra tablespoon of butter to the topping, otherwise follow the recipe exactly. Thank you for sharing this delicious apple pie recipe.
This pie was very delicious, and was also pretty easy to prepare. We love pies with a crumb topping, so we loved this one! I did however, cut down a bit on the flour, since I used Granny Smith apples (which don't release a lot of juice). I added a sprinkle of nutmeg, and also a few grains of salt into the apple mixture (because that's what my mom always did, and her pies were incredible!)
Made this yesterday. Absolutely delicious. Wonderful to try a five star recipe that lives up to five stars. A great addition to my file.
