Daughter’s Apple Crisp

My mom’s apple crisp is the best in all of Texas, honest! I tweaked it slightly, though, and now I spend less time in the kitchen and more time catching up with my spry 92-year-young mother. —Joan Hallford, North Richland Hills, Texas

This was a big hot at my house! I’m looking forward to trying it on top of different pie fillings ?? I did use half white, half brown sugar...delicious!

This is a great recipe and so easy! I did make a few changes, however. I only added 2/3 cup of sugar, and substituted nutmeg for 1 tsp. cinnamon. My company thinks I was in the kitchen for hours making this one. Definitely a keeper!

Thank you, thank you! I finally found an apple crisp recipe that does not have oatmeal in the topping. My mom also made a great crisp topping with just the flour, sugar and butter, It was the best. Never tried it with the egg. Very good. Thanks again for a delicious no oatmeal topping.

I was looking for a new topping for apple crisp so I tried this one with my apple filling(not pie filling) and it was incredible. I will definitely use this topping again!

I found this to be a quick and easy recipe! I did not have an 11x7" dish on hand, so I used a 12x8" baking pan. My retirement community did enjoy this dessert-I'd prepared it this past year. delowenstein
