Grape Sherbet

My husband, two daughters and I first enjoyed this refreshing treat at our friends' house. They graciously shared the recipe after we all raved about it. The sherbet is always popular at ice cream socials.
  • Total Time
Prep: 5 min. Process: 20 min. + freezing
  • Makes
    1 quart

  • 1-3/4 cups grape juice
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1-3/4 cups half-and-half cream

This sherbet is delicious. I increased the juice to 2 cups, the sugar to 2/3 cup and the cream to 2 cups. This was just so it made a bit more at one time in my ice cream freezer. I have also made it with 5% light cream with good results if you're looking to cut a bit of fat!

This is yummy. My husband and I are always looking for something sweet and healthy. It is especially good on a muggy day when you need something cool to quench your thirst.
