Home-Style White Bread
I often serve this bread with meals because I can use my bread machine to make it. It is a real time saver when I know I will have a busy day. I can assemble the ingredients in the morning, set the timer and come home to a fresh loaf for supper.—Yvonne Nave, Lyons, Kansas

This makes great grilled cheese sandwiches. Easy and a staple for so many uses (French toast, paninis). I double the powdered milk, and always use honey in my homemade breads for a softer texture and it seems to last a little longer.

I can't rate this because I haven't made it..I'm a retired navy baker who made everything from scratch . Our bread recipe called for two hundred pounds of flour . I still use the same recipe today at home, only I just make two loaves at a time . Ha Ha I am going to try this recipe , I'll just make it the Navy way.
how are we do these recipes if we do not have a bread machine? Can you add directions if that is the case as well?
I have been looking for a really good white bread recipe for my bread machine. This is it! I used all purpose white flour and ended up with a slightly crunchy fraud and pillows soft inside. Thanks!
.
Excellent! Tastes just like the bread I've made using my mixer
As the other reviews, it is a very basic white bread perfect for a quick dinner or as a toast bread, or if you need bread for something else, like bread crumbs or bread for bread pudding. It also offers a lot of room to add things. As for the below review, if you don't load your bread machine properly or have old yeast/dead yeast, your bread won't rise no matter what you do.
This was the very first white bread recipe I used and it's the best & easiest. I bake mine in my regular oven in a loaf pan as I dislike the paddle mark. 350 deg. for about 20-25 mins.
This is a really good white bread. I have made it several times. My first venture with a bread machine. My only complaint is the crust is a little tough. Love homemade bread!
