Homemade Fettuccini Alfredo
Total TimePrep/Total Time: 20 min.
Simple to make and my family loved it! No separation of the butter like I've had in some alfredo recipes. The nutmeg did sound unusual, but it really makes a difference. I tried the recipe "without it" and then "with". My family liked the "with" better - not knowing that the difference was the nutmeg.
Although Alfredo is a simple recipe, sharing this one will give even the novice cook a roadmap. Lest we forget, we were all novice cooks at some point in our lives. Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe. It reminds me, that simple is so often better.
Seriously? That addition of an egg yolk is ridiculous. Alfredo should be easy and simple. 1 stick butter, 1 cup heavy cream and 2 c. of good parmesan. Save a little pasta water in case it's too thick. There is no need for a recipe! I'll stack my simple peasant version up against anyone's fussy recipe!
One of the best Alfredo receipts.
My nephew and his wife do not eat "anything with a face". I made this when they came to visit, grilled some chicken for the rest of the family. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

Sometimes simple is best as this is, I added ½ once of Madeira wine for a wonderful touch. Raul (husband) loved it.
So easy and super delicious. A hit with kids and adults! The recipe is only for 2 servings but doubles easily
The addition of the egg yolk intrigued me, so I gave this sauce a try. It is so good! I served mine up with some chicken. I only had Parmesan, so I didn't add any Romano. I also added a tough of garlic after reading some of the reviews.
