Korean Beef Patties

We're adopting a baby from Korea, so we've been acquainting ourselves with that country's culture and with its interesting cooking also. I think this tasty, nutritious recipe combines the best tastes of East and of West. I serve it with rice, stir-fried vegetables...and chopsticks, of course!

One of my family's favorites for several years now! I reduce the soy sauce to just 3 Tablespoons, add a teaspoon of red pepper flakes, and about a cup of bread crumbs to help it bind together. Top with a slice of provolone. Serve on a kaiser roll spread with mayo and a bit of some "quick kimchi" that's just Cole slaw mix, about a Tablespoon of sugar, about 2 Tablespoons of chili-garlic sauce, and about 1/4 cup of rice vinegar. Layer the ingredients a bit at a time in a cleaned out pickle jar, cap and let sit on the kitchen counter about 8 hours before refrigerating. Still very crisp, but has some of those kimchi flavors that compliment this burger so well!

Omitted the sugar and scrambled the burger. Served with rice and Chinese vegetables. Fantastic! Will make again, for sure.

I'm so glad I found this recipe again! It's one of my favorites. Young kids and those who don't like garlic may not like these, but for me, they're fantastic!

I'm so glad to have re-found this recipe!!! I've been searching for it for more than 5 years! My family loves these, especially grilled. May be a little too garlickly for some folks
