Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; gradually beat into creamed mixture. Stir in remaining ingredients.
Shape 1/4 cupfuls of dough into balls; place 3 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 12-14 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool.
Editor's Note: To make smaller cookies, shape rounded tablespoons of dough into balls. Bake as directed.

Impressed with this cookie....It did not have to be chilled to turn out great.....I did increase to 3 cups flour & decrease to 3/4 cups each sugar.....Mine did not have a crispy crunchy outcome like some said....It was just like the Big Buttery Chocolate Chip Cookie texture--perfectly chewy!! YUMMMM

Good flavor, but turned out to crunchy for my liking. Maybe it is the high altitude we live in, but each batch I reduced the cooking time trying to keep these cookies soft and it just didn't happen. If you love crunchy cookies though, you might like these though.

Everyone should have a "fun" cookie in their recipe box. For me, this one is it. It tastes great and is simple to put together. No special ingredients, often already on hand in your pantry. Since I like smaller cookies, I use my 2" scoop to drop the dough. It's faster and easier, plus makes more cookies! I do think the original colored M

I was expecting more do to the positive reviews. The cookies came out fine but there was not a lot of flavor. I bake a lot of cookies and these are not as good I usually make.

Having a cookie exchange party tomorrow, so last night I halved the recipe and they came out great. No cookies ran, and they all looked and tasted great.Tonight I decided to make 1 & 1/2 times the recipe to make enough for every one to take home and sample. I Also decided to use 1/2 M & Ms and 1/2 chocolate chips. The first 4 trays came out good. The next 3 trays ran. I put the dough in the frig while waiting but they still ran. Not sure why. Still, in general I was pleased. Next time might just make it in small batches.

Great tasting cookie. Easy to make. I made them exactly as the recipe stated and brought them to work and they were gone in a second!! I highly recommend them to everyone.
