Maple & Bacon Glazed Brussels Sprouts

For special meals, here’s a fantastic side dish that even children will love. The sweet maple syrup and smoky bacon complement the Brussels sprouts perfectly. —Jan Valdez, Chicago, Illinois

Taste of Home always has delicious recepies! I alter this one for the Brussels Sprouts a little. First, I crisp pre-cooked bacon between paper towels in the micro wave. This results in far less fat in the dish. My grandson is allergic to pecans, so I saute chopped onions with the b s. Also, I use spray olive oil instead of butter to cut down on the calories. And, as I am diabetic, I use sugar free maple syrup. Don't over cook the Brussels Sprouts! They aren't good mushy!

Wow! These were amazing! I can't say I'm usually a brussels sprouts fan, but maple and bacon definitely change that. The kids even ate them without complaint. I will definitely make these again.

I made this for my husband and I for a side dish with a ham steak, and it was fabulous. I will be making it for company the next time.

We love Brussels sprouts so it came as no surprise that we loved this recipe. I will definitely make this again and again.

I served these for Thanksgiving Dinner last year for the first time and they’re sooo good! Our dinner guests left with the recipe and even my husband (who doesn’t like Brussels Sprouts) came back for seconds. The bacon and maple syrup is a winning combination! They’re on the menu again for today’s dinner!

This is a very delicious side dish! I used real bacon bits rather than chopping and cooking bacon slices, and it turned out beautifully. My husband is not a fan of Brussels sprouts, but he said they actually tasted good in this recipe.
