I came up with this warm dessert when babysitting on a cold, rainy night. The kids were asking for something sweet, and I was craving bread pudding. —Victoria Kvassay, Covina, California

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup whipped cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 10 slices white bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 15 miniature peanut butter cups, quartered
  • Creamy peanut butter, melted, optional

Directions

  1. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine cream, chocolate chips, cream cheese, sugar and butter. Cover and microwave on high until chips are melted, 2-3 minutes; stir until smooth. Add bread cubes; toss to coat.
  2. Place half the bread mixture in a greased 8-in. square microwave-safe dish. Sprinkle with peanut butter cups; top with remaining bread mixture. Microwave, uncovered, on high until peanut butter cups are melted, about 1-1/2 minutes. Serve warm and if desired, drizzle with peanut butter.
