I made this and it was great. My husband thought so, also. He said a fellow could get fat real quick eating this! I also made a bunch for a church bake sale. This is worth making again for sure.
this recipe was ABSOLUTELY FREAKING FLIPPING GROSS......LY good. would maybe recommend depending on if you own monkeys or not. i have 12 kids and they all love it, they come home from community college to snack on these daily! they don't love me but they sure do love these bars! i love these bars too, it keeps my family together. if i didn't make these every week my wife becca would leave me, but that's another story. 3 stars from me :)
Loved this simple recipe! Was a great snack/dessert to make for the kiddos and their friends. Made a bunch, so had enough to share with some teachers. Would get creative and may add different kinds of cereal next time.
Is this recipe right? A 40 oz. jar of peanut butter? That sounds pretty big...I'm not sure I even know where to get a 40 oz. jar of peanut butter! I used the usual 28 oz. size of peanut butter, and they turned out fine, everyone liked them. I used Rice Chex for the crisp rice cereal.
I made these bars when my grand kids came over and like magic, they were gone..delicious, not too sweet and super easy to make...
These are so easy to make and taste yummy. I love them.
Easy and fun to make. Very similar concept to rice crispy treats but with peanut butter. The peanut butter flavor stands out and not very sweet in taste as you would think. I cut the recipe in half to try and it is perfect for our family. I added chocolate chips just before pouring into the baking dish and is very yummy. I will certainly make again. Would be a great treat for church or school event. Very inexpensive to make too.
I made these with my kids and they are so easy that the kids made them pretty much on their own. Yes, the recipe does call for a lot of sugar but the it's also a huge recipe. I halved it but you could easily do 1/3 or even 1/4 recipe. It would also be very easy to replace the sugar and corn syrup with something else (I've seen honey and molasses both suggested). All in all a good, delicious recipe that is easy to make.
Easy and so good. My granddaughter loves to make these. We do make them gluten free using corn chex and rice chex. We also use 1/2 honey and 1/2 corn syrup. We have made the full recipe but we prefer to cut the recipe in half. It is surprising how many "reviewers" negatively criticize -- my mama always taught me if you can't say something nice keep your mouth shut.
First time I made them by the recipe ...Really good.The second time I remembered I had a big jar of goodquality Amish made molasses. It looks and tasteslike a cross between honey & molasses... Supper goodstuff. So I used that instead of corn syrup & added ateaspoon of vanilla. Wow... now I cant stop eating them.Addicting! You could still mix honey and store boughtmolasses. The blacker the molasses is use more honeyand less molasses then. Just keep it at 2 cups total.I'd say it's healthier with honey an molasses too.
