It seems so straight forward, but just adding lemon flavored rum instead of regular rum was a total game changer for me on the sangria front! (I used BACARDÍ Límon Rum.) I also sliced in some oranges, just to add more of a fruity look, but overall, this recipe was just the perfect ratio to use going forward.
