Slow-Cooked Sage Dressing

  • 1-1/4 cups butter, cubed
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons rubbed sage
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 14 to 15 cups day-old cubed bread
  • 3 cups chopped celery
  • 1-1/2 cups chopped onion


  1. In a microwave, melt butter with seasonings. Place bread, celery and onion in a large bowl; toss with butter mixture. Transfer to a 5-qt. slow cooker.
  2. Cook, covered, on low until heated through, 4-5 hours, stirring once.
