Strawberry Salad with Poppy Seed Dressing
My family is always happy to see this fruit and veggie salad on the table. If strawberries aren’t available, substitute mandarin oranges and dried cranberries. —Irene Keller, Kalamazoo, Michigan

An amazing salad for a hot summer day or any day for that matter! Last night, we enjoyed the salad with our barbecued burgers under the evening stars when the 95 degree heat cooled to something reasonable.. Whether a simple family meal or elegant meal for special guests, the combination of greens and fruit with the sweet dressing and unforgettable candied almond is one of my favorite green salads. It is like a dessert alongside a main course!
Panera adds chicken breast and some fresh blueberries and pineapple tidbits. I personally like spring greens in addition to the romaine lettuce.
Made this for dinner last night, and we really liked it. My husband went back for seconds! This is such a great salad to make for dinner on a hot day.
What an amazing recipe for spring! I made it for a family party and it was a hit! This salad is so fresh and flavorful and the ingredients all tie in nicely with one another.
I have been making this exact recipe for many years. I got it from my original Taste of Home magazine. It is always a favorite , everywhere I go! The perfect combination of flavors and textures, and pretty, too. Don't change a thing!

But we double the dressing!
We made this at work for a function and everyone really loved this salad. Perfect to enjoy fresh strawberries from the local market.
This salad is worthy of more than 5 stars! The dressing is so delicious and the lettuce, strawberry , onion mixture is very pretty and tasty. The caramel almonds on top are a little trouble but well worth the effort. This would be great for a ladies luncheon!
Great salad. The dressing was delicious. Made it just as it says and I will be making this again for sure.
