  • 8 slices white bread, toasted if desired
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise, divided
  • 2 large ripe tomatoes, sliced 1/2 inch thick
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper


  1. Spread four slices of bread with half of the mayonnaise. Top with tomatoes; season with salt and pepper. Spread remaining mayonnaise over remaining bread; close sandwiches.
