Zesty Garlic Broccoli

I've been a vegetarian for over 20 years and often experiment with flavors compatible to the many vegetables I prepare. My nephew, who lived with me for a year while going to graduate school, thought this was one of my best creations. —Louiza Kemyan, Palm Springs, California

Winner, winner!!! Used melted buttery margarine instead of the oil. Used my steamer basket. Will make it again!

I prepared this recipe for dinner tonight and it was delicious. Not only quick and easy but it had a delightful subtle garlic flavor. I did not use the red pepper flakes but sprinkled a little seasoning that brought out the flavors. We will be having this easy recipe again.

Blander than expected. I used the pepper flakes, but somehow it did not enhance the flavor of the broccoli. Maybe more salt, or garlic? I love broccoli, so will play around with this recipe next time.

It has become a favorite! I make enough to have leftovers which is excellant added in an omelet or frittata the next day.
